Emergency Notification System (ENS)

The Marble Falls Police Department is currently participating in the ENS program provided by CAPCOG (Capital Area Planning Council of Governments).  This system was purchased with Department of Homeland Security Funding and is available to agencies in the CAPCOG region wanting to participate.

ENS is a program designed to notify relatively small numbers of citizens (hundreds to low thousands) in case of an emergency which directly affects that population.  It enables the delivery of potentially life-saving information or instruction automatically.  It can be used for a wide variety of emergency situations (missing persons but not Amber Alerts, severe weather/flooding, evacuations, HAZMAT release, terrorist threats, community announcements, and neighborhood watches).

With ENS, activations can pinpoint the targeted notification area(s) and automatically call each home, business, school, or other desired location that have a land-line phone number within the selected area.  Pre-recorded messages can be established or customized when needed for a specific emergency.  At this time, ENS does not call cellular phone numbers.

The 3rd Wednesday of each month is set aside to do random phone testing to residence and business phones numbers within the city limits of Marble Falls.
