Zoning Code Update
2016-2018 ZONING / LAND USE REGULATION UPDATE
The City of Marble Falls is embarking in a comprehensive review and update to the City's existing zoning/land use regulations. This project was prioritized as one of the key regulatory implementation actions of the recently adopted 2016 Comprehensive Plan. Specifically, it involves determining how the community’s vision for the future gets implemented as part of new development/redevelopment.
The update will be a 15-month process, with an anticipated completion date of August 2018. Project kick-off began November 2016. The update will be facilitated by Halff Associates, Inc., our planning consultant team.
In order to ensure the City’s land use regulations are updated in accordance with the long-term vision and needs of the community, an advisory committee will be formed. The purpose of the Zoning Advisory Committee (ZAC) is to provide a balanced opinion on important City issues and to provide a comprehensive community perspective on the draft and refined regulations and map amendments.
Several public meetings, walk-in meetings, and forums will be held to ensure that the development community in Marble Falls has opportunity to understand and vet the proposed land use regulations as it applies to building and development practices in Marble Falls.
