New School Year and Traffic Safety

The new school year for Marble Falls ISD and Faith Academy starts this month.  The first day of school for Faith is August 15th and for Marble Falls, August 22nd. Help keep our students safe with these few tips.

  • Drivers need to expect heavier traffic and delays.
  • It is recommended that commuters leave earlier and plan alternate routes until traffic patterns become more consistent and new comers learn the ins and outs of the area.
  • Remember speeds reduce on certain roadways around the schools from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm and FM 1431 has reduced speeds when the School Zone signs are flashing.
  • Be aware of cell phone free zones during school hours as well.

This year
introduces the new intersection on FM 1431 at Ave N and Bluebonnet. Currently there are stop signs at this intersection with plans to upgrade to traffic signals operational around September 1st.  This will mean there will be approximately two weeks of school traffic before the traffic signals would be operational.  To help mitigate any traffic issues at this intersection, the Marble Falls Police Department will have officers directing traffic during flashing school zone times to minimize any possible issues.  Once the traffic signals are installed, there shouldn't be any issues.

Let's have a great year.  Go MUSTANGS, Go FLAMES!
